I live in North West Norfolk, which is a relatively sleepy place to live, being about an hour from any city, and an hour from the nearest motorway. It’s nice here.
About five years ago I went on a bit of a life adventure that ended up with me gaining a whole load of interesting friends dotted around the country, and one particular friend (the lovely Jane) who ended up becoming my wife. And last year a little boy called Tom came along and my life took on a whole new direction, and meaning.
My interests are fairly varied. I like creating stuff, whether it be writing, or photography, or cooking. I’m not saying I’m great at those things, but what I lack in technical ability I think I make up for in wit and imagination.
Other facts:
- I work in the NHS, which I think is one of the best things the UK ever created.
- I’m quite shy. I need time and/or distance to shine.
- I like tigers.
- I make wild claims that can’t possibly be backed up.
- I invented the combustion engine.

I couldn’t agree more with you. The NHS is one of the best things the UK has ever created. I am always pleassed and proud to hear that NHS staff think this way.
And on a completely different note: congratulations on inventing the combustion engine. You must be a very rich man.
…Or was it a case that Herr Daimler got to the patent office first?
Hi mate
my mate Tobie tipped me off to your blog, love it! Tried to text you for a pint the other day but the number I had didn’t belong to you! When you get a chance send me your proper number over on email?
Hope fatherhood is suiting you well, also good to hear about Jane’s winey sense :0)
Great blog. I was also introduced to it by Tobie, is he on commission?
Keep up the good blogging as and when parenting allows.
