The Day We Caught the Train

After a trip to sell my car, we found ourselves at a bit of a loose end in Peterborough yesterday. I vaguely remembered visiting a nice park in the Nene valley, and after a bit of satnav-wrangling we managed to track it down.

What I’d forgotten was the park has a mini train line running from one end of a lake to the other. So Tom got to have his first ever train ride. And I got to fill up on some pure Dad Mojo.

Here’s a little video I made entirely with my iPhone.

When Tom watched it for the first time, he went “choo chooooo”. It was about then my Dad Mojo gauge went “pop”.

Aww, so adorable. And (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s even a train from the Thomas the Tank Engine world! *Aunt squee* My nephew loved the show once upon a time.

    Total cute overload. :-)

Fine choice of music by the way.

Yet another reason to get an iPhone! And have already asked other half whether we can take 2yr old to this park – he’s developed a serious Thomas, the Tank Engine obsession. Very very cute post.

He’ll probably love the full-size train line that stops at this park, the Nene Valley Railway. They have an official, full-sized Thomas, named by Rev Audrey himself.

Planning on taking Tom there when he’s old enough to appreciate it!

  4. I’m not surprised – that is too cute for words!

Little elf’s first words were actually “choo-choo”. She remained utterly obsessed by all forms of trains and Thomas (and still gets quite excited by them until she met other slightly older little girls and became infected by the dreaded ‘Fairy Princess’ virus.
